I always like to have something to go with the theme on the door when guests get to the party. This year was no exception. I had a rainbow balloon wreath on the door with a rainbow stripe door mat outside. I debated mixing the colors together as you see above or keeping them in rainbow order as you can see in the post that inspired me here. In the end, I mixed the colors together so that I could reuse the wreath more easily for a future birthday party for either That Little Girl or That Baby. If I were to do it again, I would leave out the Navy blue to keep it a little brighter.
Birthday Balloon Wreath
What we used:
- 150 12″ latex balloons
- Floral pins
- 12″ straw wreath
- Wire ribbon for a bow
You can see my supplies laid out below. Leaving the plastic around the wreath keeps any mess from happening.
This was very easy to do. I alternated the colors I used and the way the balloons were facing and just got going. I used one pin for one or two balloons to get the coverage I wanted. Then just push the pin into the wreath to secure them.
That Little Girl even helped me toward the end. As long as your child is old enough to use the pins safely, it can be a fun way for them to help get ready for their party. I know how much she loves to contribute to her own!
Somehow we didn’t get a photograph of the wreath hanging on the door. We used a royal blue ribbon with a bow to hang it up.
